Data controller
VentureSift is operated by COMBIMATCH, a French sole proprietorship (SIRET 988 068 623), reachable at hello@venturesift.com. This page describes the data the product actually collects as it works today.
Data we collect
When you join the waitlist or the newsletter, we collect:
- your email address;
- your chosen language (French or English);
- an acquisition-source tag (for example "linkedin" or "direct"), a plain marketing label with no extra personal data;
- the date of consent and signup.
A technical cookie (venturesift_lang) remembers your preferred language for one
year. It isn't used for tracking or advertising, and no third-party analytics script runs on
this site.
Why we use it
This data is used only to send you the weekly VentureSift newsletter and, occasionally, product updates, the exact purpose you consent to at signup. Legal basis: consent (GDPR Article 6.1.a).
Where and how data is stored
Data is hosted on Google Cloud Firestore, in a European region. Google Cloud acts as a technical processor; we don't sell or share your email with third parties for marketing purposes. If a transactional email provider is added in the future, it will be named here before it goes live.
Retention
Your data is kept until you unsubscribe or request its deletion; there is no automatic purge beyond that.
Your rights
Under GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, and object to the processing of your data. For erasure, use the Unsubscribe page: your email is removed immediately, no confirmation email required. For any other request, write to hello@venturesift.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
No automated decisions about you
VentureSift's scoring engine analyzes public business-activity signals (open-source repositories, public tenders, technical questions, and similar), it does not profile visitors or subscribers.
Changes
This policy may change as the product evolves (for example, adding an email delivery provider). The "last updated" date above is refreshed with every substantive change.
